Literary Coaching is the opportunity to work one-on-one with a professional writer and writing instructor to meet your personal writing goals. Sessions are tailored to your specific needs setting on-going meetings and planning, deadline setting, writing assignments, and recommended reading, preliminary editing/feedback. A manuscript consultation and/or drafts assessment can be booked in addition to the coaching and is a smart investment to get the most out of your sessions if you already have begun work on a project through which you would like to be coached.
Consultations are an opportunity to brainstorm about a writing project you would like to talk through and bring to full focus in order to devise a plan for bringing it to fruition. A consultation can also be a chance to have a close read of a manuscript for insight on creative technique execution, content editing, literary efficacy, and direction for subsequent drafts or next steps toward publication. A drafts Assessment is an opportunity to gather the drafts and free-writes you have been compiling for that manuscript you have in mind and get an objective opinion on how they might fit together, direction for re-writing, instruction on how to weave them into a cohesive narrative.
Writing Adventures fuel adventurous writing that proves our ordinary lives are the most valuable, intriguing adventure and worth writing and reading about in our poems and literary nonfiction. These writing workshops and retreats are a chance to do things you’ve always wanted to do: skydive, surf, cycle, travel, practice yoga and meditation, cook, Scuba-dive, wander museums and court your muse, mull the magic of music and movement, and let all these incidents ignite your voice... Then through prompted writing exercises, guided readings and dedicated writing time you’ll discover a way to articulate what these experiences, and subsequently all your experiences, mean to you. Most importantly you will have FUN and have a good story to tell at the end of the day.
